FREE Webinar Replay: Clinical Rounds: Health Care Disparities: Replacing Myths With Facts When Treating Ethnic and Racial Minority Patients
March 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Racial and ethnic minorities are systematically undertreated for pain relative to white Americans. In addition, racial and ethnic bias is related to false beliefs about biological differences between the white and minority populations, which are used to inform medical judgments and may contribute to racial disparities in pain assessment and treatment. Through the encouragement of cultural humility, the removal of these myths when making medical assessments will improve outcomes for patients and reduce health disparities.
Learn the differences between myths and facts associated with biological differences in the assessment of patients
Hear recommendations to aid in the reduction of health disparities.
